Payment Gateway Configuration - Authorize.Net

A payment gateway provides a means of processing payments for items sold, like registrations and products. Event Publisher Supports receiving payments using multiple Payment Gateway Providers. This page is specific to customers using Authorize.Net as their Payment Gateway.

Authorize.Net Processing

Please note, Event Publisher charges a service provider fee when registering for an event with a cost associated to it.


The standard Service Fee is $0.99 per item, plus 2.5% of the total cost of the item. The maximum service fee charged is $9.95.
When processing payments using Authorize.Net Event Publisher will deposit the full amount of the transaction (including service fees) into your Authorize.net account. Active Data, Inc. will invoice monthly for all service fees due.

Setup

Prior to being able to sell items and registrations using Event Publisher you will be required to configure your payment gateway. To Configure your Authorize.Net Payment Gateway you will need to complete the following steps:


  1. Select what information you would like to provide as the transaction comment
  2. Provide a Merchant ID (Authorize.net API Login ID).
  3. Provide a Merchant Password (Authorize.net Transaction Key).
  4. Select a Mode - Test or Live Mode.

Transaction Comment

The payment gateway can be configured to send additional information in the transaction details provided to Authorize.net to be included in the transaction details and associated reports Currently, Authorize.Net is limited to the configuration of a single field to be sent with the transaction for reporting purposes.

Merchant ID

In order to start processing payments using Authorize.net you will need to connect Event Publisher to your Authorize.net Gateway using the Authorize.Net API and your Merchant ID.

Provide your Authorize.net Merchant ID in this input box. Typically the merchant ID is 8 characters in length, using both letters and numbers, and is case sensitive.

Merchant Password

In order to start processing payments using Authorize.net you will need to connect Event Publisher to your Authorize.net Gateway using the Authorize.Net API and the Merchant Password.

Provide your Authorize.net Merchant Password, associated with the Merchant ID above in this input box. Typically the merchant ID is 16 characters in length, using both letters and numbers, and is case sensitive.

Optionally, your company logo can be displayed on the checkout page. Supply the URL to your logo in this input box

Mode

The following options are available when configuring your Authorize.Net gateway:

Live Mode

Selecting the "Live Mode" option permits Authorize.Net to collect funds for tickets and registration. This mode should be selected if you are ready to start collecting funds for your events.

Test Requests

Selecting the "Test Mode" option prevents Authorize.Net from collect funds for tickets and registration. This mode will prevent you from collecting funds from customers that are registering for events. This mode should not be selected if you expect to collect funds for your events.

Available functions

  • Click Clear to remove your acceptance of Active Data's Billing Agreement. Selecting this link will prevent you from collecting revenue from registrations and purchases. Users on your site will be unable to complete registration, or purchase items that have a cost associated with them.

  • Click Save to save your changes and return to the Site Settings page.
